Who we are

Did I? ("we", "us") is a mobile application that helps you log small but important life moments so you can answer everyday questions like "Did I lock the gate?" without second-guessing.

Did I? is developed by NIXX/DEV. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

2.

Summary

In plain language:

  • Your memories, notes, photos, and locations are stored on YOUR device.
  • We do not require an account to use the core app.
  • Optional ads (Google AdMob) may collect advertising identifiers and usage data for ad delivery unless you purchase "Remove ads".
  • Optional features (location, camera/photos, notifications, calendar) only run when you use them and grant permission.
3.

Data we process

3.1 Data stored only on your device

We do not operate a cloud account for memories in the current version.

  • Memory logs (title, notes, category, timestamps)
  • Optional photo attachments (local file paths)
  • Optional location coordinates and reverse-geocoded address
  • Check-in / reminder times
  • App settings (theme, morning nudge, ads-removed purchase flag)
  • Local backups you export as JSON files you choose to share

3.2 Data processed by third parties (optional features)

a) Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — if ads are enabled

Collects device advertising ID, IP address, device info, coarse location (as provided by the ad SDK / platform), and ad interaction data for the purpose of showing ads, measuring performance, and preventing fraud.

See Google's Privacy Policy. You can remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase.

b) Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — if you buy "Remove ads"

Purchase tokens and transaction records are handled by the store. We store a local "ads removed" flag on your device and do not receive your full payment card details.

c) Device OS services you invoke

  • Local notifications (check-ins, optional morning nudge)
  • Maps apps when you open a location
  • Calendar app when you choose "Add to calendar"
  • Share sheet when you export or share a memory
4.

Permissions

You can deny any permission; core logging still works without location or camera access.

PermissionWhy
NotificationsMemory check-ins; optional 8:00 AM daily nudge
Camera / PhotosOptional — attach one photo to a memory
LocationOptional — place tag on a memory
CalendarOptional — system calendar event for a check-in
InternetAds, map preview tiles, address geocoding
5.

Children

Did I? is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). Do not use the app if you are under that age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6.

Data retention

  • On-device memories remain until you delete them or uninstall the app (uninstall typically deletes local app data).
  • Exported JSON backups are under your control.
  • Ad-related data is retained by Google according to their policies.
7.

Your choices

  • Delete individual memories in the app (with Undo briefly available).
  • Export or import your database from Settings.
  • Turn off the morning nudge in Settings.
  • Revoke OS permissions in your device system settings.
  • Purchase "Remove ads" (one-time) or use OS ad personalization controls.
  • Uninstall the app to remove local data (except backups you saved elsewhere).
8.

International users

Ads and store services may process data in other countries where Google or Apple operate. See their respective privacy policies for details.

9.

Security

We designed Did I? to work offline-first. We do not transmit your memory content to our servers in this version. Device security — such as using a passcode and keeping your OS up to date — is important. No method of storage is 100% secure.

10.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be noted in the app store listing or via an in-app notice.
